Burrrrr

So I did in fact go to the fall fest and I only took one child. Maggie was so bummed that Madison decided she wanted to stay with her cousin Jacob and build a fire with her Uncle John. Maggie is NOT shy but with out Madison she is a bit more reserved. I painted faces and she stood next to me the whole time. We FROZE our tails off. It was so cold and windy that my hands were barely able to paint. I then got moved to a fishing booth. I clipped candy on the end of a fishing pole and the kids seemed to love it. I thought It was kind of corny, but none the less the children were having a great time. Maggie on the other hand was shivering because she wasn't running around like the rest of the kids. She was sitting next to me and refused to go and play. She wanted me to paint her face but I had to move to the fishing station and when my time was up helping out I was too cold to stand in the face painting line. I felt sorry for her because she thought that she was going to go to the Fall Fest and have an amazing time jumping in the fun house and getting candy and playing games like the rest of the kids. She told me that If I took her to Wal-mart she would be okay with not getting something painted on her face. I was all for that Idea......until we got to Wal-mart and she decided one thing really wasn't enough. She felt that she needed three things to make her feel better about the bad day she was having. I was fine with it. It's not like I do this all the time anyway. We walked down isle after isle looking and searching for the best three things she could find. She found an Art Carrying case that had markers, crayons, map colors, glue and paper. She was in heaven. This is my artsy child. She colors all the time and loves for me to tell her just how marvelous she is at it. Then we went to the Shoes and she found some Ugg like boots that she had to have because MOM has some and "We can wear them on the same day and look alike." Last we went down the candy isle and she found some Christmas candy cane holder with chocolate in it. She had to have it. So I gave it to her. She was so sweet and so good while we were freezing out booties off at the fall fair, I couldn't say no to the three items she wanted. They weren't crazy expensive and we were able to spend some quality time together...one on one. We got home and James and Madison were making a fire in our wood burning stove. I love that thing. We took baths and got cozy in bed and watched The Wizard of Oz. It was a good day!

Fall Fest

I'm about to take the girls to the fall fest at their school. They are so excited and I offered to help out while I was there. I got a surprise when they asked if I could draw. I said yes because can't everyone? They filled me in on what I was going to be doing.....painting faces. I can't draw that good, but I'll do my best. Hahah I don't know if I'm really down with getting in all of these children's faces, seeing as how it is that time of year for colds and the flu. Antibacterial wipes will be right by my side, fighting off the germs.

The girls woke me up to giggling. This morning they have played together so well. I am so happy that they are like best little friends today. They counted their money in their piggy banks and put it all together and decided they wanted to go shopping after the fall fest and get something that they can play with together. I over heard Madison telling Maggie that she needed to put her money in the bank. Maggie didn't like her idea. Madison was explaining how if she put her money in the bank she could make money....like three dollars or something...she said. Maggie was like...Wow! Three dollars!.....LOL, they crack me up.

I think today will be a much better day than yesterday. Hahhahahaha

It's been a while.

Well, I'm back. Long time no write right! I've been busy. Well, not so much I've just been Blah. But anyway, it's Friday night and the girls are hunkered down on the couch watching Shark boy and Lava Girl. I'm here on the computer bored and figured I'd stop by my blog and look at how long it's been since I've written. It's been too long....

Maggie is loving Kindergarten and I am so glad she does. She reads so well. I'm so proud of her. She has been getting help with Mrs. Morris and let me just say that woman can teach. Dick and Jane are her favorite books to read. Then there is Madison, she is making great grades in school. She's always done really well in her studies. Where she gets that I don't know, but I'm very thankful for it. As for me, I am at home all the time and I think sitting at home all day- every day- is kind of depressing. I have had time to read....The Shack (really interesting, made me think in a way I never thought of before), The love dare (still reading it), Daily Devotionals and lots of magazines. I think being a stay at home wife is nice but lonely. I guess I need to join some club or something. Anything to get me outta this house. Lately I've been riding around in Latch when I have nothing else to do. I've been gravitating towards the oil top road I used to live on. I miss it. I miss being young. I miss my family members that have died. I feel like life is flying by and the older I get the faster it goes. I miss the country and that old road I used to walk down each day. Does everyone go through things like this? I miss it terribly. I think being at home with children for all these years and now not having any here with me, makes me lonely. Is that strange. I can't quite explain it. I feel like I don't have any other purpose. I was in charge of raising the girls and now they are gone 8 hours a day and I sit alone reminiscing about old times. I can for sure say I don't want any more kiddos. I am NOT that lonely. Hahaha, but I need something. Like a job....a job that I go into work at 8am and get off at exactly 3:15 on the dot to pick the girls up from school. LoL, but doesn't every one with little kids. I've been lucky enough to stay home all these years and now I am just in a rut. I'll get out of it. I just figured I'd write about how I was feeling at the moment. Maggie keeps running in and out of here talking to me. I guess I could get off of here and pay some attention to my little girls, who are going to be big girls before I know it. I'm off. Hopefully I'll be back soon to write in this blog more. This one is depressing. Blah

School

So here I sit annoyed that I still haven't been writing and I'm thinking that once the girls start school on Monday I can get back to blogging! We went to "Meet the Teacher" and I absolutely love the girls teachers. Maggie is super excited about her classroom. She thinks it looks awesome. Her teacher is Mrs. Amber Watson. Her husband is the Gilmer High School Principle this year. Madison is pumped about school because her best friend Reese is in her class. She has Mrs. Regina Tefteller. I met her a few times and she is a really nice woman. She's young, pretty and Madison seems to love her already. I am sad that this house is going to be so quiet but it's exciting at the same time. All sorts of emotions are going on right now. I am super tired and I'm going to hit the hay. Good night!

Blahhhh Mood

So I've totally neglected my blog and I've been neglecting my cleaning duties and cooking duties. I've been pretty worthless for a couple of weeks now. Not to sure why. I just have no energy and can't figure out why. As I type my sweet girls are screaming at the top of their lungs at each other and are crying for me to "Make her stop". I just told them to go to their rooms and now they are really mad. Ahhhhhh the joys of mother hood. I love those two I just wouldn't want to be on a deserted Island right now with them. I am pretty much blogging to complain. So bare with me, I hope to get out of this Blah mood and I hope to start keeping up with my blog better. That's all.........

IIIIIIII'm Baaaaaack

Okay so I am now back to blogging. I haven't forgotten I've just been lazy. Sandy and I took the girls school clothes shopping and let me just say we got TONS of clothes for the little girls. They tried on so many outfits that they got tired of trying clothes on and heck Madison started to cry towards the end b/c she didn't want to try anything else on. Jeez....I would have given my right arm to have been able to go shopping and get all that they did when I was their age. Anywho, Madison is really not used to going shopping because I just don't take them!! I get outfits I like and I bring them home and the girls usually like them and there we have it...New clothes, happy kids and a stress free mom. Well not this day. Sandy wanted to take the angels with us so that we could make sure they were getting the correct sizes. She was right about wanting to take them, these clothes were very expensive. I thought they were expensive, it may be normal for some people but I'm pretty savvy when it comes to clothes. Don't get me wrong I want the cute outfits I just don't want to pay big bucks for them. Well, we did end up paying a pretty penny this day. I felt a little sick to my stomach but I couldn't be happier that they got the clothes, they are all set for school and they are going to be the cutest ones there. Sandy took us to a little Boutique in Terrell. The ride there was....H E double Hockey sticks. That's ugly...I know. I wish I had a video camera with us this day. The girls were a mess. Madison and Maggie decided that they would bring small throws with them to tie up to the hand grip things above the doors and head rests. Madison had hers tied in no time and Maggie threw a fit b/c hers wasn't doing what Maddie's was doing. She had the "Whiny Voice" the whole way there. Madison cried because she just didn't understand why I always make her wear her seat belt and then Maggie decided to join in. They used their blankets as a little hammock. I know it's hard to understand how but these kids are pretty talented. Madison's hammock was working fine and Maggies....well just wasn't. The problem was that they didn't know how to get in their hammocks with their seat belts on. I wasn't giving in. They were wearing those seat belts even if we had to hear crying to whole way to Terrell. They thought I was just the meanest mom on the planet. Ohhhh Welll, gotta keep the kids safe, don't gotta keep 'em happy. So after a ride that seemed to drag on forever we arrived. We get to the Boutique and they take off checking out all the cute clothes. Madison heads off with Sandy and Maggie is with me. She is grabbing all the clothes she likes but she's getting all the wrong sizes and is getting mad at me for taking them from her and trying to take her to the sizes she needed to be looking at. Boy ohhh boy this child was testing my patients. We find her size and she is picking everything out. She loves it all. So we carry more than a dozen to the dressing rooms and the nice thing is that we were the only ones there. No other kids. That's great b/c if there had been some they would have had a loooonnng wait at the dressing rooms. We were there forever it seemed. We slowly let the girls try on clothes and model them around and then when they took them off to try on something new they would throw the clothes at Sandy and myself to hang back up. We had a "Maybe" pile and a "Yes" pile and a "NOOOO" pile. They had fun for about 15 min. maybe, until they tried on a hideous outfit that Sandy or I didn't like to well and when we told them that we would be putting it in the "NOOOO" pile they about died. Let me just say. I am not about to pay $40-$50 for an outfit that is tacky just b/c the kiddos like it. They were MAD let me tell ya. At one point when Maggie would go behinde the curtain to try a new dress on I would practically throw the ugly outfit at the lady working there and I would wisper "Get Rid of This Before She Comes Out PHHHLEASE." This poor woman was running back and forth doing things for Sandy and I. She was really wonderful. They must have forgotten the other 8 outfits we said "YES" to. They have no concept at all of money and it's about time to fill them in. I'm not sure how to yet but I'll figure it out. I never got allowances growing up because my aunt didn't think that we kids should get paid for keeping our rooms nice, helping out in the kitchen, washing laundry and hanging it all out to dry, mowing, dusting, vacuuming and well you get the idea. We worked and we didn't get paid. That's what you do in a family you help with the chores. We did get to do fun things at the end of the week we just didn't get a regular amount of money each week for tasks we did. I've never thought of giving the girls money for doing things around the house but I think it would help especially when we go some where and they have to spend their money on a toy or treat instead of mom. They would have a certain amount and if it was more than they had well they would just have to put it back and find something in their price range. I am def. going to work on a chore chart that gives them an allowance. Back to the shopping. We finally get through picking out the clothes and the girls are Starving....So am I. We decide to drive to Mineola to a cute little restaurant that has awesome burgers. We have more crying in the car on the way there b/c they are soooooo hungry and they didn't even want to come shopping in the first place. By this point I'm starting to get a full on migraine b/c of these two sweet daughters of mine. We finally get there and get food in their tummy's and we go through a couple of Antique stores. The girls really enjoyed that out of everything. I will take them to do that again. Clothes shopping will have to wait until they are like 14 or 15 years old. Finally, on the way back home Maggie gets her hammock fixed and she's a happy camper on the way home. Madison is being good and I'm wondering why it couldn't have been so nice the way there. Oh well. We got school clothes and we are set. They still need some shoes but that I can do by myself.

~MⓐGGⓘE Got in!~

So I decided to enroll Maggie in a Dual Language Class at school. She is going to be in Kindergarten. I went to our first meeting about the class and we were told that this is a new thing at our school and if you
want your child to be in the class you must be willing to keep them in
it until they are in 6th Grade! Mainly they don't want parents taking
their children out of the class if they (the parents) don't think
that their child likes it anymore or whatever. The class will be 50% english
speaking children and 50% spanish speaking children. They will be taught Spanish for the next few years. Thing is....each year they will get a new teacher but they will have the same students as the year before. Weird. I figure that this is going to be one tight group. I am so excited for her to learn Spanish. My grandmother and mother speak spanish and would love to hear her speak their launguage. I hope to learn along the way. I am also excited that her cousins are also in the class. Katie and Mason will be with her for the next so many years. They are close now but It will make a stronger bond I'm sure. Family is the best
thing ever. Madison is praying that her cousin Jacob will be in her class. They were not in the same class last year but when they were at recess they were connected at the hip. She loves her cousin. She is actually with him right now spending the night. They are 4 months apart and they truly are a mess when they
are together. I am sad that Maggie is going to be starting school this year and that Madison is getting so big but I'm excited for the new friends and everything new that comes with school.

Burrito Casserole

Here is the best/quick dish...

  • Bag of 12 Burritos in the freezer section at Wal-mart
  • 2 cans of Rotel-I use Mild
  • 2 cans of Cream of Chicken soup-Healthy Request(doesn't have to be)
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup of Milk
  • Garlic Salt
  • Pepper

First you will need a casserole dish. I use an 8x13 and I spray the bottom with Pam. Mix Rotel, Cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic salt and pepper together in a mixing bowl. Then get a small amount and spoon it into the bottom of the casserole dish. Lay the burritos in the dish. Pour remaining mixture onto the burritos. Sprinkle on the shredded cheese. Be sure to cover it good with cheese. Cover with Foil and Bake @ 350° for 35 minutes and then take the foil off and cook for 10-15 minutes until the chesse is melted.

Take out and let stand 5 min. to cool and dig in. It's great. You can sort of guestemate on the milk and cheese with how thick or thin you want the sauce. Have fun cooking.

I'm so tired.

Well, I just got home from Longview. I had some errands to run and my sister called me and asked if I would come and sit with her at the ball park to watch Jeff and Michael play baseball. I'm so pooped. I worked today and when I got off I met up with Sandy at McDonalds and ate lunch with her and the girls. Madison wanted to stay with Sandy and Maggie wanted to come home with me. She was something else at McDonalds and I figured that Sandy might want a little break. Maggie and I took off and stopped by Jamies house to pick up Maggies Scentsy. She was so excited about finally getting one. If you don't know what a Scentsy is I'll fill you in, it's a warmer that has a little bowl that you put wax in and it melts and smells amazing. I have 4 at my house. I love them. We got home and set it up in her room and she was so proud of it. When we were done she said she was bored and didn't have anyone to play with. I told her I would play with her and she was all for it. I took her in my bathroom and put a facial mud mask on her face and she loved every minute of her pampering. I took tons of pics of her that I will post on here later. When she was waiting for the mask to dry she asked if I wanted to play dress up and it sounded fun to me so I told her to go in her room and don't come out until she was in her dress. She ran off in a hurry. I ran into my closet and got my awesome black and purple polk-a-doted strapless dress that is TOTALLY 80's and put it on as fast as I could! When Maggie came out of her room her little face lit up. She was laughing so hard that MOM was actually going to play dress up with her. Little things like dress up made her so happy. I loved it. She was dancing all over the place. She was looking around in my closet and found one of her Expensive Dress up outfits I got for her at market. Hahahah, I don't know why I spent so much on it b/c now I don't want her to wear it and mess it up. Kind of pointless I know. So any way she decided that the dress she had on wasn't as pretty as the one in my closet and she asked if she could change. I told her we were playing DRESS UP and that of course it was okay to change. She was really excited about it b/c she still had a green face from the Mask and was sure I'd say no. She quickly changed and pranced around for a while and danced some more. She is a dancing machine. Her face was getting harder and harder to move and she said she was ready to take that MUD off. I told her it was probably time and she ran to the bathroom and took it off as fast as she could. She asked if she could then put some make up on me and I wasn't really down with all of that because I had to go to Church at 5pm and I didn't want to have a painted up face from a 5 year old. I told her I would do her make-up. She was fine with that and when we were all through dolling her up she begged me to let her put some on me. Well, she was so cute and sweet about it I said Okay. She was giggling the whole time and I just knew that she was jacking my face all up. I let her do her thing and then she let me look in a mirror and she was laughing so hard she was starting to tear up. She had my lipstick all outta wack and my eyes were full of hot pink and gold shimmer eyeshadow. It wasn't very becoming. She got a kick out of it. When I had to start getting ready for church she got a little pouty and asked it her cousin Katie could come over so we went to pick her up. When we got back they decided they wanted to watch a movie. I had a workout video in the DVD player and I told them they could do a DANCE Workout and they loved that Idea. I put it on and you should have seen these two little girls trying to follow what the girl on the DVD was doing. It was great. I videoed it and I will try to put it on here. It was quite a show. Maggie is a wild child but she's also so funny and loving. I have a great kiddo and I'm proud to say she's all mine. (and my dear husbands too)

The end of the day.

We went to the birthday party for Mason and had a great time. We rode with my
sister-in-law Jennifer and her daughters Katie and Carly.
The girls played on the swings when we arrived and I chit chatted with my other
sister-in-law Sarah. Maggie kept tugging on me b/c she wanted me to go and watch her
swim. So I did. I hung out with Sandy (my mother-in-law), Sarah and
Aunt Linda Kay. We had a nice time visiting. Maggie was in the pool with Katie Rose
and Madison was swimming with her friends Alyssa and Jaci. They were
all on a floaty trying their hardest to keep it afloat. Madison's sweet smile
was showing the whole time. Maggie was strutting around the pool like some model or something
and being just as prissy as always. She would occasionally come over to
give me a kiss or a hug just to get me wet and to see how I was going to react. The girls
really enjoyed themselves and so did I.
Okay so I've been trying to figure out how to make my own background and let me just say I'm confused. I want to be able to design my own but heck I can't even figure out how to put other peoples designs on my page. It's tickin' me off. I will eventually figure it out but I'm sure I will spend way to much time on it when there's a quicker way. Ohhh well!

Sandy babysat for me today while I worked up at Flip Out.
www.myspace.com/flipoutsalon
She took them to Ricia's Salon and got their hair trimmed. Then she decided to take
them to Target and she said that was some trip. Madison got a doll
and some pink shoes. Maggie wanted sports clothes and bubbles. I don't know
about that girl sometimes. She is so funny. They went to I Hop and they had
a blast. They have a sweet Peppie and I am so happy to have her help
me out with the girls.

We are about to head out. Mason is turning 6 and we are going to the country club
for his swim party. The girls are so ready they have been talking about it
all day. Maggie drives me nuts with all the questions....when is 6 o'clock,
how long is it until then, is that long, when are we leaving, is it
time to go yet.

Day one of my Blog

Well, I am new to the blogging world and I think that it's time to give this a try. I think documenting my families life in words and pictures is extremely important. I want to be able to look back and share this with my family. I have a horrible memory and writing all of the days events will help me. I hope to document our lives weekly and I hope I am able to stick with it. My girls will appreciate all of this when they are older.

So today has been a pretty busy day. After breakfast I took the girls to our newly updated park in town and it was great seeing the girls play so nice together. It didn't last long, they started to get annoyed with each other, but It was fun while it lasted. I then decided to take them to get a snow cone and as luck would have it both of the snow cone stands in our tiny little town were closed. So the girls were pretty bummed. I didn't want to go home yet to do all of the things that awaited me, like laundry, sweeping, dinner, dusting and well you get the idea. I took the girls to the library and it was obviously long over due. They loved it! We sat and read some books but Maggie on the other hand didn't want me to read she wanted to make up her own words for what she was seeing on each page. She can't read yet but she is so ready to learn. I finally did get to look around for a while in the "Grown up" section. I had a really good time and I know the girls did too. We were there for a little over an hour. By the time we got into the car to head home they brought up the snow cone stand again. Truth be told I really wanted one too. We still haven't had lunch yet but I figured we could live a little. So much to my surprise they were finally opened and we all tried new flavors. My snow cone was Blue Lagoon and it sort of tasted like a bathroom cleaner smells. Madison tried the Margarita. I know what your thinking. Why is she letting her 8 year old try a Margarita flavor. Look it's alcohol free people. Maggie wanted to try it too but she wanted to also try the bubble gum flavor...YUCK...she didn't like the two mixed and neither did Madison or myself. We get home finally to have some much needed lunch and by the time the girls sat down Jed and Jake come in and Jed starts telling us about his trip to Kansas. When the girls were done eating and Jed was done with his story they all decided that it would be fun to drive the Mule to John's office. I let them go and I cleaned the kitchen as fast as I could so I could join Blogger and start my new page. Fun Fun. I still need to mess around with it to make it exactly the way I want it to look, but for now what I have will work. I need to go now b/c James just got home and I need to finish preparing for dinner. We are having my awesome Burrito casserole and its the girls favorite. James is a happy guy as long as there is dinner when he gets home. He's always starving. My man works hard and for that I love him.

:D
